"Motivational
Speakers Don't Motivate"

by James
Arthur Ray
Motivational Speakers don't motivate... Motivation comes from
within and no one can do it to you or for you. What motivational
speakers can potentially provide is the impetus to move you
into action. And action (as always) is the key.
Nine
times out of ten you will find that the "motivation"
you receive is actually something you "retrieve."
In other words, someone or something triggers a remembrance
from deep inside of you -- in one of those extreme moments
of clarity your thinking takes you to a place of higher resonance
and you remember who you are and of what you are capable.
When
the wave of motivation rolls over you, you are inspired (in
spirit) by a new sense of power and purpose. You are catapulted
into a sense of heightened awareness -- the world, opportunities,
and potentialities expand unbounded around you. What once
seemed impossible to your logical/rational mind suddenly seems
completely possible. In fact, it is not only possible...it
is certain!
Yes
we have all heard the repetitive platitudes and clichés
of the genre but have you not also had that moment...albeit
ever so brief... in which (being reminded of a power beyond
your limited intellect and finite physical abilities), you
knew beyond a shadow that you could accomplish the apparently
impossible?
You
will notice that fully one third of the word motivation is
rooted in motion. We have often been told that "knowledge
is power." ...Now there is a cliché that is full
of crap! Knowledge is not power...knowledge is nothing more
than organized information; and therefore only "potential
power." Real power is only accessed and directed when
knowledge is placed into action.
To
tap into your internal core, where true motivation resides,
you must get your own self-limiting beliefs out of the way
and allow your Infinite ability to flow through. This will
never come from an outside source, although it may be triggered
after an exposure to an external source.
All
great sages, teachers and saints have taught in one-way-shape-or-fashion
that the power to win in life comes quite simply from two
things -- you must constantly:
- Study,
understand, and immerse yourself in that which brings you
power.
- Avoid
all that weakens you.
Therefore,
while giving the ever-popular "motivational speaker"
a bad rap in the beginning of this discussion, these ubiquitous
warriors of re-minders and re-membering do carry some degree
of power and potential transformation. Plugging your mind
into ideas and techniques of an expansive nature in a world
inundated with negative input, can assist you in staying plugged
in to that power source lying deep within your core.
To
quote a frequently used motivational speaker axiom "it
is not what you know that will create a change in your life...it
is what you do with what you know." As a result, the
positive and upbeat information you exposure your mind and
body to must be put into action -- massive, immediate, and
consistent!
To
truly be "motivated" you must tap into your own
power center -- or in other words, your Divine internal essence.
As stated earlier, "tapping in" can be facilitated
by surrounding and exposing yourself to Thoughts of Power;
and then most importantly that potential power must be set
in motion... moving from your head to your heart and ultimately
to your feet.
